Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be obtained in the following ways:

In Surgery

By handing in the counterfoil part (right-hand side) of the prescription at reception after ticking the relevant boxes of the medication you require.

These slips should be dropped into the black box fitted to the wall to the left hand side of the Reception windows.

By Telephone

Order your prescription by telephone at any time throughout the day. Please select option 1 for reception.

Only medication on regular repeat prescription may be ordered by telephone and requests must be clear and precise.

Electronic Prescription Services

Electronic Prescription Service is a relatively new system where we can send your prescriptions to your nominated pharmacy electronically; on the whole is can save you time and result in less visits to the surgery.

There are some drugs and devices that cannot be sent via EPS at the moment, however you will be notified of this before you register for this service or before a new repeat medication is initiated.

You can nominate a pharmacy to receive your prescriptions by either speaking to the pharmacy or requesting this in surgery.

Practice Repeat Prescribing Ordering Policy

The practice no longer accepts repeat prescription requests from pharmacies on behalf of patients.

We are aware that the online pharmacy, ‘Pharmacy 2U’ is currently mailing Wakefield residents advising of the services that they can provide.

Please note that our policy also applies to Pharmacy 2U and therefore if you choose to nominate Pharmacy 2U to dispense your medicines, you will still need to order your own prescription from the surgery.

All pharmacies are still able to collect your repeat prescription from the surgery once it has been processed and deliver your medicines to you if they offer these services.

Please be assured that the practice has not provided Pharmacy 2U with your details and that we are not affiliated to them in any way.

Medication reviews are usually required every 12 months.
